The 2.55 is named for the month and year Coco Chanel first designed it — February 1955 — and this Reissue tote reimagines that original in a vivid green quilted patent leather that manages to feel both vintage and completely current. The diamond quilting is classic Chanel, but the dark ruthenium Mademoiselle twist-lock closure (a nod to the brand's history before the CC turn-lock became standard) gives it a distinctly retro edge, and the tote silhouette — wider, more open, more everyday than the flap bag — makes it an easier one to actually live in.
