The bezel setting is what distinguishes this necklace from every other diamond rivière in the room. Each round brilliant sits encircled in yellow gold rather than exposed in prongs, giving the chain an almost vintage quality — the gold as present as the diamonds themselves. At the centre, a large pear-cut stone sits within a halo of bezel-set rounds, the pendant substantial enough to command attention without the chain diminishing beside it. Fifty-two carats at 44 cm, the length allowing the pendant to fall at exactly the right point on the décolletage. In 18k yellow gold, the necklace carries a warmth that feels more grand era than contemporary trend, and is better for it.
